Matt Park’s new EP, "To You, From Me", is a collection of six delicate musical letters written by a pianist and new father. With only a single piano, the album charts a course through the wondrous and overwhelming journey of the first two months with a child, guiding the listener into a world of warmth and profound emotion. / 박광은의 새 EP 앨범 '너에게, 내가'는 한 아이의 아빠가 된 피아니스트가 써 내려간 여섯 편의 섬세한 음악 편지다. 오직 한 대의 피아노만으로, 아기와의 첫 두 달간 겪는 경이로움과 벅찬 사랑의 여정을 그려내며, 듣는 이를 따뜻한 감동의 세계로 안내한다.
The opening track, "A Tiny Breath," begins the album by portraying the mystery of a new life with a transparent melody and breath-like spaces. The following piece, "An Unspoken Language," warmly expresses the tender process of getting to know one another through a dialogue of cries and eye contact, much like an intimate conversation between the piano's left and right hands. / 첫 트랙 '작은 숨소리'는 갓 태어난 생명의 신비로움을 투명한 멜로디와 숨 쉬는 듯한 여백으로 그려내며 앨범의 문을 연다. 이어지는 '말 없는 대화'에서는 피아노의 왼손과 오른손이 다정한 대화를 나누듯, 울음과 눈맞춤만으로 서로를 알아가는 애틋한 교감의 과정을 따뜻하게 표현한다.
"The Quiet Hour of 4 PM" paints a picture of miraculous peace, leading the album's emotional line to a deeper place. Within this quietness, the album's emotional pinnacle, "Two Moons, One Universe," reveals itself. It is a declaration that the two moons, mother and father, have now begun to revolve around the one universe that is the baby, singing of this new world order with rich, heart-swelling chords. / '고요한 오후 4시'는 기적처럼 찾아온 평화로운 순간을 그리며, 앨범의 감정선을 한 단계 깊은 곳으로 이끈다. 이 고요함 속에서, 앨범의 정서적 정점을 이루는 '두 개의 달, 하나의 우주'가 그 모습을 드러낸다. 엄마와 아빠라는 두 개의 달이, 이제 아기라는 단 하나의 우주를 중심으로 공전하기 시작했음을 선언하는 이 곡은, 풍성한 화음으로 새로운 세상의 질서를 벅차게 노래한다.
This wondrous realization then blossoms in "Ode to Life" as a warm and hopeful melody. Its gentle keystrokes and a feeling of forward progression sing of the brilliant energy radiated by the small life that has become the center of the new world, and the pure joy its existence brings.
